Eurotek Engineering Ltd was founded by the owner Roger Smith in 1989. Roger had previously been employed in the freezing industry for over 15 years with other manufacturers and had the desire to offer something different.
Success with orders for McCain for IQF French Fry freezers soon followed and the company began to grow. A major contract for UK seafood giant Youngs Bluecrest announced Eurotek as a major supplier to the UK freezing market with the supply of 7 spiral freezers. Youngs Bluecrest have now purchased in excess of 20 systems giving testimony to the quality, reliability and service offered by Eurotek.
Experienced personnel in sales, engineering and service, were recruited from other freezer manufacturers as the company grew.
Export markets were seen as a key route to growth and a number of representatives were established around the world. Eurotek Sales Offices in France and Portugal were also opened.
Representative offices have been established in Iceland, South Africa, Thailand, Australia, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Germany and other countries around the world.
The number of freezing installations now exceeds 400 units and additions to the equipment range include extra low temperature spirals (-52°C), compact IQF freezers, Eurojet impingement type freezers, Crust Freezers, Carton Freezers, Multibelt tunnels and special inline freezer/chillers.
Accessories developed include CIP systems, Snow Removal System (SRS), tangential loading conveyors, vibrating under belt agitation for IQF freezers, sequential defrost and extended run evaporators. Eurotek have pioneered the use of recirculating liquid CO2 refrigerant with the 1st installations in France, Thailand, UK and Russia. Eurotek are the first company to include UV light disinfection in a spiral system
Eurotek continue to grow and in 2006 a new building was completed to house additional office personnel, a dedicated product testing facility and storage area.
The ongoing challenge is to deliver high quality, custom built, robust and reliable freezing and chilling equipment that gives the user maximum performance with minimum downtime. The Eurotek motto when discussing with a prospective client is :-
